I do kind of get it. I think to ‘ship’, so to speak, requires… investment? Yeah, investment. So, if it’s just ‘huh, I like those two together’ it’s more of a passive thing than the active stuff need to be a shipper? Eh that’s my lurker side talking
Yeah, I think that’s part of it for me! Like I don’t really actively ship anything, the close I get is I like a canon couple (like, say, Anthy and Utena or something), and I don’t really think that’s shipping? That’s acknowledging the canon exists. I just don’t know.
I lurk too because ahahaha fandom confounds me.
