We can’t stop staring at the moving mouth tentacles on this incredibly awesome and rather disturbing animatronic Zoidberg costume. It was created by effects artist Frank Ippolito in collaboration with Tested and debuted at WonderCon 2014.
In addition to the nightmarish remote-controlled animatronic tentacles, the costume features foam-latex feet and claws that clickety-click just like they do on Futurama. Ippolito probably even recreated Zoidberg’s unforgettable odor. Let’s just hope they didn’t create an alternate costume depicting the Decapodian doctor out of his shell.
How I made scale mail out of faux leather, in case anyone finds this useful. I used the same method for Morrigan’s camisole except that one I sewed instead of stapled.
Instructions are in the captions.

Some DCC photos!
So first there was a cosplay marching band which was FANTASTIC they played and marched and everything I LOVED IT
Next is a Goliath and Elisa cosplay but what’s cool is the woman is blue and white is the voice actress of Elisa Maza? There was a Gargoyles reunion panel thing that I didn’t get to but still… so cool…
Next is a cool steampunk-y outfit where a woman had modded a robot raptor to have a little top hat and goggles and wings and it was so cute I loved it
Then Lilo! And Stitch. BUT LILO!!! YEAH!
Then Jessica Rabbit eeeee
And finally the Tick, Chairface, American Maid, uuhhh and I think live action Tick characters because that’s not Die Fledermaus nor American Maid but rather Batmanuel and Captain Liberty from what I can find? Yeah. I still need to watch the live action series.
There were lots of other really great costumes I didn’t get pictures of and I had a fun time at DCC though I didn’t get to any panels, alas
