From the author, Daniel Davis:
"One of my earliest Space Colony paintings was based on the giant ‘Model 3’ cylindrical habitats envisioned by Gerard O’Neill. I imagined the clouds forming at an ‘altitude’ around the rotation axis.
At this time the scene is bathed in the ruddy light of all the sunrises and sunsets on Earth at that moment as the colony briefly enters the Earths shadow, out at the L5 Lagrangian point where stable locations are easily maintained. Oil on canvas panel disposition unknown.”

Disney Pinups - Photoset 1

Probably my most famous set of Disney fanart, now in handy Tumblr form straight from the source!

I’ve had a few requests to put these girls up so people can reblog them, so here they are! There are quite a few in this long series, so I’m going to break them up into chunks. :)

Gameplay from MANOS: The Hands of Fate. The game runs at a smooth 60fps; the lower framerate here is just a limitation of the recording. Segments from the first two levels are shown.

These Bride of Frankenstein paper dolls by the My Merry company were released in 1964, but the fashions look like they walked off the runway today. Imagine how popular those coffin shoes with a skull clasp would be if someone posted them to tumblr? Or that amazing skull purse? What about using an octopus as an accessory?

“The Raygun Gothic Rocketship is a rococo retro-futurist future-rustic vernacular between yesterday’s tomorrow and the future that never was, a critical kitsch somewhere between The Moons of Mongo & Manga Nouveau.”
[via How to be a Retronaut]

I love this and I’m not sure if it’s because of the sculture itself or the description. I mean, how many art words can you cram into a sentence? I am truly impressed. I want to memorize it for parties. It is that amazing.
